This little Mitsubishi 6X-140 is a stylish, small vertical shirt-pocket transistor radio. Interesting tuning knob is adjustable from side or top. Brick red front, back (normally ivory) is missing. This radio is otherwise complete with wire handle and quality leather case. In very good shape except for a small (1/8" x 1/8" chip on bottom corner with a 1/2" crack from it. Coin slot area is a bit chewed. A rare radio--I have only ever seen two of these. Not in either Bunis book, but is shown in Lane, page 66. I tested the radio and got a quiet hiss and a little static. About what you get from an unfriendly cat. Nothing more. Made in Japan.
Remember, there is no back with this radio. This is just how I found it and I've been looking for a back for it now for 35 years with no luck. It's time for someone else to look. You?
Shipped to you carefully packed in a strong box for safe delivery. Your satisfaction guaranteed or your money back.

If you need an excuse for buying a vintage transistor radio, consider this: In times of inflation like these we're living in now, "hard assets" are a recognized "safe haven." Gold, diamonds, real estate—these have historically offered some protection from inflation.
So have collectibles. They're a "hard asset" just like those other things, but they're more fun to hold, more fun to own, and much more affordable. Anyway, that's been my theory for a long time now.
Of course I can't guarantee the future of prices in the collectibles market. But I can say from firsthand experience how much fun it is to collect these little radios.
